The Papakura
branch of ITFNZ was formed in 1988. It was originally
held at the Papakura high school small gym - which
was actually an old double classroom. The gym
was very hard to find, but even so we had a good
first intake of around 15 to 20 members. We quickly
outgrew the gym and moved to the Rosehill Intermediate
school hall, then in 1998 we re-located to the
Papakura Normal School Hall.
The Papakura branch has a current membership
of around 40 people, and we are active and supportive
of all ITFNZ activities such as tournaments
and seminars. We have won the "Best Club"
at the CM Regional tournament each year for as
long records have been kept until 2006.
In 2006 Mr Steve Pellow took on specialist instructor
role at the Papakura branch. |
